Senior Mining Engineer North Bay, Ontario, Canada
Lead a team of junior to intermediate engineers in providing engineering support for pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, proposals/bids, mine planning and mining projects
Engineering project management including weekly reporting, design change notice management and capital estimate management
Supplier coordination and client communication
Specification and procurement package writing and analysis
Assisting the contracting and Business Development groups with tendering work and estimation
Site assistance as required
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor of Applied Science in Mining Engineering
Experience: 10-15 years of mining engineering design experience, especially in underground mine construction
Registered professional engineering licensed to practice in the province of Ontario
Skills, knowledge & abilities
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, Primavera and AutoCAD
Experienced in project management, reporting writing for scoping and feasibility studies, estimating and scheduling
General knowledge of applicable mining regulations, safety codes and acts
Familiar with underground excavation and construction of mine development, shafts, raises and construction for mine infrastructure
Ability to handle change, self starter, work with minimum supervision and critical of own work
