Chief Engineer

Responsibilities include: Oversee the effective and safe extraction of ore from the underground operation according to plan. Direct and manage all underground mine production activities including planning, budgeting, staffing, cost containment and profitability. Analyze geological and engineering information and provide direction in the development of mine plans. Work with the senior management team in determining the overall strategy for the mine. Manage; coach and lead teams engaged in mining to ensure the production and development targets and schedules are met to ensure profitability and business development in accordance with the annual budget and strategic business plan. Ensure that all activities at the site operate within safety, security and environmental policies and regulations, to protect the assets of employees of the company and the Contractors.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS: To be considered for this job, applicants must meet these basic requirements:
• BS in Mine Engineering or related degree required.
• Minimum 10 years in engineering and mining operations required.
• Strong working knowledge of underground mining methods and procedures and legislative requirements required.
• 2 to 5 years of Contractor management experience required.
• Good understanding and working knowledge of the applicable legislation and regulations for Mines and Mining Plants Required.
• Excellent leadership, people, and communication skills required.
• Demonstrated Continuous Improvement attitude required.
