An opportunity has arisen with a recognised employer of choice for a Senior Safety Advisor. Our client, a global mining giant, operates underground and open pit mines throughout Australia and the world with interests in a range of different commodities. This opportunity exists at a unique world-class operation in Northern Australia.

Reporting to the HSE Superintendent and leading a small safety team you will be responsible for maintaining and managing effective safety systems and policies and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation. The duties and responsibilities of this role include but will not be limited to:

Developing and implementing systems to continually improve safety performance
Conducting inspections and audits
Ensuring incidents and injuries are thoroughly investigated
Preparing reports for senior management
The successful applicant will be a high performing safety professional with previous experience within a mining environment. To be successful in this role you will require:

A strong knowledge of safety systems, procedures and legislation
Exceptional communication skills to liaise with mine personnel, contractors and senior management
The ability to influence people
Leadership qualities
A systematic approach to your work
