The Duck Pond copper-zinc operation is located in central Newfoundland within the Exploits Valley Region 30 km from the closest community of Millertown and 100 km southwest of the town of Grand Falls-Windsor. Mining is carried out principally from underground utilizing ramp access at a rate of 1,800 tonnes of ore per day. A flotation mill processes the ore to produce copper and zinc concentrates for sale.
Technician 3 – (2 Positions)
Reporting to the Senior Mine Geologist, you will be responsible for Definition Core Logging and Sampling, Underground Grade Control Sampling, Muck Calls and Development Monitoring, Production Stope Monitoring and Sampling, Stockpile Grade Control, Data Entry and Cad Drawing Functions, Processing Downhole Survey Data and other duties as required.
Geological Technician or equivalent experience in the mining industry, as well as knowledge of MS Excel, MS Access, Amine/Autocad and Gemcom would be considered an asset.
