PROJECT SUPERINTENDENT

Responsibilities
In this position, you will be responsible for a number of functions, including safety, business strategy, financial performance, organizational development, customer relations, and daily conduct of crews. Within these functions, you will implement an effective and proactive health and safety management program and instill a culture of safe work practices; coordinate a business plan for awarded quotes to include resources and equipment required to execute projects for customers across Canada; track and maintain project budgets to achieve a positive profit margin; lead and coordinate projects to meet client requirements and P&H protocols while building close working relationships with client managers; and conduct daily “toolbox” talks, weekly safety meetings and site audits with personnel. Other duties include coordinating daily job tasks, reviewing project progress on a daily basis, ensuring administrative requirements are met, and conducting post-project reviews to enhance customer relationships and strengthen alliances. You will also develop job task risk assessments to maintain safety awareness, coordinate the maintenance of tooling and equipment, conduct tool inventories to ensure appropriate supply to meet project needs, and ensure compliance with all training requirements, business processes and policies.
Qualifications
Requires a post-secondary education in a relevant certified trade in the electrical, welding, millwrighting or heavy-duty mechanical fields; 5+ years’ experience in mining or heavy industry as well as 5+ years in a supervisory role; in-depth knowledge of electrical and mechanical theory; strong interpersonal and leadership skills to work with a diverse group of internal managers and provide mentorship to staff; and PC proficiency. Position requires 30%-50% travel.
