Working with Vale Australia provides you with the scope to work across a range of Greenfield and existing coal operations. Our Technical and Business Improvement personnel have recently been centralised and are now based in Mackay, Qld.
The ongoing expansion of our Queensland operations has created an immediate requirement for an additional Senior Geologist to join our team. This role is considered pivotal to the success of this new initiative and indeed our continued growth in Australia.
You will join a team of highly talented professionals working towards gaining the most value from the mining process and resource. We're looking for skilled personnel with an outstanding work ethic and a team focused approach to come on board.
For your application to be considered, you will possess:
Relevant tertiary qualification(s)
Veriable work experience in Australian Coal Mining
Ability to use lateral thinking & technical expertise to achieve desired outcomes
A genuine sense of team spirit and solid cultural values
A comprehensive understanding of safe work practices
Excellent interpersonal skills with the capacity to liaise across all levels of management
Your specific individual job activities will revolve around:
Senior Geologist
Implementation of quality reconciliation between pit & plant for the operations
Exploration management of brown field and future potential tenements
Assistance with resource utilisation and maximisation between projects
Maintaining all geological models for LOM planning
Conduct onsite audits within the technical teams of site procedures and policies
