We are seeking people who are looking for well paid, permanent position who will be required to undertake work in the remote areas of South Australia as a Field Assistant.

The available position would consist of 2 parts, duties whilst out in the field, and those in our clients warehouse when there aren’'t any projects.

Whilst working out in the field, you will be assisting exploration geologists take samples in the form of bags, rock chips, mud samples or drill core. You will be instructed by the geologist exactly what samples to take and be responsible to ensure the samples are labeled, stored effectively. You may also be required to take surface samples or assist in surveys of geophysical equipment, having the use off a 4WD or quad bike to make use of.

You will also be required to manage the day to day running of the field camp whilst out on project. This would require such tasks as maintaining field equipment, with such equipment as generators, submersible water pumps, quad bikes and vehicles. It will also be your responsibility for the menial day to day duties such as cooking / cleaning etc, as well as managing supplies such as food and sample collecting bags / trays etc.

Once the project has finished and you are back at the warehouse, you will be required to take on various warehouse duties such as organizing samples, ensuring service records of field equipment are kept up to date and various duties as required.

To be successful in this position it will be required that you the following:

- Car licence and being able to drive a manual vehicle
- General mechanical/maintenance knowledge
- Basic computer skills with programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Being able to work in remote areas and staying in different types of field accommodation from swags and tents to shearers quarters for periods of time
- Be able to be away from home for extended periods of time

It would be advantageous that you would also possess the following skills:

- First aid certificate
- Forklift licence
- Truck licence
- Motorbike licence
- Being able to ride a quad bike
- 4WD/offroad driving experience
