Our Client, a world class open pit miner, is seeking an experienced Technical Specialist for the Rebuild Workshop to support their Mill maintenance effort.

The Incumbent will work as part of the Rebuild Workshop Team offering mentoring, training, direction and motivation to other team members. Assisting in the development of experienced Trades people in the overhaul and repair of critical equipment such as gear boxes, drive systems, various types of process pumps, hydraulics & pneumatics. Predominantly rebuilds will be carried out in the workshop with a high degree of proficiency in gearbox and pump rebuilds. Plant based work includes the mechanical maintenance of water supply system, alignments and technical support to other fixed plant maintenance groups as required

Skills & Experience:

* Commitment to excellence in safety
* Track record in mentoring / training and able to explain clearly to build skills in relevant areas
* Track record of leading maintenance rebuild work teams in associated industries
* Understanding of different culture/community/environment issues
* Experience with monitoring operating costs

Training & Qualification:

* Certificates in Trades including Fitting, Machining, Hydraulics, or equivalent experience
* 5-10 years experience in mining or heavy industry with a fixed plant background, rebuild maintenance and repair at a supervisory level
* Certificate IV Level Trainer (desirable not mandatory) with good understanding of multi cultural groups

This is a hands on role and the appointee will also be expected to contribute to the company's training / mentoring program.

A 4 weeks on 2 weeks off FIFO roster with commute arrangements to Australia and New Zealand applies.
