Fixed Plant Maintenance Planners

Our client is a leading international gold mining company, with a portfolio of 27 operating mines, seven advanced exploration and development projects located across five continents, and a large land position on the world’s best exploration belts. Located in North Queensland, the copper/gold deposit incorporates underground and open cut mining, a mineral processing plant and supporting infrastructure.

The Fixed Plant Maintenance Planner will plan and schedule all maintenance work associated with the Fixed Plant equipment which includes Concentrator, Bore fields, Winder (double drum, single clutch) and Crushing circuits, both surface (Fuller Gyratory 30” Traylor type, Nordberg SX 300)and underground (Jaques 4842H double toggle)., to ensure the reliability and availability is maintained effectively and efficiently.

Qualifications:
• Trade Qualifications in Mechanical Fitting
• Post trade studies/qualifications, including Maintenance Planning & Scheduling
• Maintenance Management Fundamentals would be desirable but are not essential

Key Requirements:
• 5+ years experience in a maintenance planning environment, with additional maintenance experience in the mining industry. Must have a good understanding of Underground mining operations; fixed plant equipment
• Have a good understanding of shutdown planning and execution
• A good understanding of Queensland Mining & Quarrying Act and regulations
• Excellent communication skills — both oral and written
• Sound planning and organisational skills, with attention to detail
• Ability to manage personal work priorities and assist others, through sound planning and organisational skills
• Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project software and J.D.Edwards CMMS or similar.

This position will operate on a fly-in/ fly-out basis from Townsville working an 8 days on, 6 days off roster.
