Our client is a world class mining and minerals processing operation based in South America. With successful mining and exploration projects underway they are poised for significant growth in the coming year. To assist in meeting these demands, they are seeking an experienced Metallurgy Superintendent to lead the processing team and ensure plant production is optimised to meet budget targets and forecasts. This is a truly challenging role which will stretch both your technical and management abilities.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Providing technical support to personnel in the plant and laboratory
Optimising plant performance
Reviewing daily, weekly and monthly plant performance reports
Meeting quality, production and maintenance targets
Maintaining the operating and capital costs within the budget forecasts
Assisting in the planning and directing of Research and Development Metallurgy Team
Achieving a high level of safety and environmental standards
The ideal candidate will have tertiary qualifications in Metallurgy / Chemical Engineering or a related discipline, complemented by extensive production experience in base metals processing in flotation. Candidates should have held similar positions previously and be able to demonstrate the ability to manage budgets, staff and competing demands as well as outstanding technical knowledge and leadership skills. Strong interpersonal skills will be highly regarded and enable the successful candidate to work effectively with national staff and be empathetic to cultural needs and variety.
This role is offered FIFO from point-of-hire with business class flight or there is the option to live in country and experience the best South America has to offer. The successful candidate will also receive s very attractive salary package, including expatriate tax benefits. Site facilities are of a high standard and ensure your comfort whilst on site with travel completed during roster.
