Process Review & Design Analyst (Civil Design)

Benchmark design processes vs. Industry experience to identify gaps and provide recommendations for improvement opportunities.

Provide support and advice to the Head of Civil Design regarding the implementation and development of the new Civil Design structure.

Essential Criteria:

Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team of Engineers and Designers, in the delivery of complex multi-disciplinary Track engineering design projects. Demonstrated extensive experience in the design, construction and maintenance of relevant civil infrastructure and related assets within an Engineering Consultancy firm Demonstrated experience in the review and improvement of civil design processes Demonstrated understanding and application of: risk assessment; design principles for hazard controls; requirements for consultation when making changes that affect safety. Demonstrated ability to evaluate technical feasibility studies, including the provision of broad costing, risk analysis, design analysis, and cost to benefit analysis to facilitate capital works priorities. Thorough understanding of current and emerging technologies in the design sub-discipline of civil engineering. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of rail infrastructure and operations. Demonstrated negotiation and communication skills, including the ability to liaise at all levels of an organisation. Demonstrated experience within a rail environment (e.g. possessions, safety, programming, interfacing, staging etc.) and an awareness of other rail design disciplines and their operational standards. Working knowledge or awareness of relevant codes of practice, standards, and the regulatory rail and electrical engineering environment.
