There certainly are some large projects underway in the North West of Australia – it’s the hub of our resources and Oil and Gas sector, and when you speak in terms of a small project in those areas it is generally around the size of CV$50m!

The clients are some of the worlds biggest and most successful companies with diverse business units and financial strength – they have turnovers approaching the size of GDP’s of most small countries! As such, the standard of company they seek to construct and deliver their projects need to be of a similarly high caliber…like our client!

The project is a CV$200m infrastructure and bulk earthworks project in the Pilbara region. Reporting to the Project Manager, expect to be responsible for the bulk and detailed earthworks as well as concrete placement. Duties include:

• Management of a team of site engineers, superintendents and supervisors
• Creating, maintaining and review of JSA’s together with safety and construction staff
• Promoting a “Safety First” work ethic
• Compliance to the Safety, Quality, Environment and Community Management Plans
• Cost control, budgeting and forecasting
• Tender award together with the Project Manager
• Driving production to always be within the constraints of the programme
• Motivating and training staff
• Support to the Project Manager and standing in for the PM on occaision
