We are currently seeking an experienced OHS Manager to provide strategic planning and operational support to John Holland's SMP (Structure Mechanical Process) business and construction projects.
The key responsibilities of this role are;
Lead the implementation of OHS&WC strategies, systems, risk management and training initiatives across SMP's operations regionally and nationally;
Contribution to developing a culture of "No Harm" through OH&S vigilance, accountability, ownership and awareness across the business;
Communicating with key stakeholders on various OH&S initiatives and strategies.
To be successful in this role, you will need to satisfy the following criteria:
Tertiary based qualifications within Occupational Health and Safety or relevant discipline;
Minimum of 5 years experience in generalist OHS and OHS Management in heavy construction;
Thorough understanding of OH&S Legislation, Regulations, Standards and Codes of Practice and how they relate to project delivery;
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively manage relationships by building rapport and influencing at all levels, including government, unions, workforce, sub-contractors and suppliers.
Reporting to the Regional OHS Manager, the ideal applicant will be safety and service focused with an ability to influence OH&S initiatives at all levels across the business.
Due to the nature of our business and locations of our projects, it is expected that there will be some travel required.
