Established in 2002, the PNG Sustainable Development Program (PNGSDP) was devised to ensure ongoing and lasting benefits to the people of the Western Province and PNG as a whole after the pending closure of the Ok Tedi mining operations scheduled around 2013. Its objective is to support selected sustainable development programs and projects from two funds aimed at both the current period and for the long term, post mine closure.

The position of Director, Transformational Projects is newly created and will see you working closely with the Chief Executive Officer in managing the complexities of PNGSDP's project goals. You will lead the development of major economic infrastructure projects that will underpin long-term economic growth. You will engage and manage multiple stakeholders, build coalitions and drive projects to the point where they can be progressed on a commercial basis. Sounds exciting doesn't it?

PNGSDP's new Director, Transformational Projects is a creative, flexible and resilient individual who will relish the opportunity to apply their skills in challenging circumstances. They have an excellent track record in developing major commercial projects, preferably in a developing country context, combined with strong business acumen, negotiation and analysis skills. As a naturally good communicator, they will foster successful relationships and keep their team focussed on delivery of goals and objectives. Ideally, they will have a strong background in commercial management and infrastructure.
