We are working closely with an established mining company on the recruitment of an experienced Underground Mine Geologist. The site operates on a FIFO roster from Perth and offers an exceptional leadership group who are committed to the development of all staff. The orebody consists of a number of complex lodes currently being mined through a variety of mining methods. The operation has a significant mine-life and a comprehensive resource development programme is well underway which it is expected to deliver further extensions and satellite operations.
The Underground Mine Geologist will form part of a technical team focused on the day-to-day management of underground production activities. Working closely with an experienced Senior Geologist, you will take charge of a project area to address a range of duties, including:
Supervision of underground geotechs and direction of underground mining contractor
Daily face &wall mapping
Input of geological data for interpretations and updating geological models
Assist with resource drilling, including collation & validation of data
Assist with monthly reconciliations and project work
The position is suited to passionate, career-driven geologists who want to work within a supportive yet complex underground environment. A good sense of humour and willingness to assist your colleagues in a range of hands-on duties will also be essential. You will ideally bring a sound working knowledge of computer software, however, extensive training is provided in relation to the site specific systems. Tertiary Qualifications (Geology) and previous experience in underground environments are essential requirements.
