Our client a large industry player, own a portfolio of world-class base metal mining operations. With development projects and exploration field work in place our client has operations based in both Australia and Asia together with ongoing exploration projects occurring throughout North America.

Due to increased business demands a role has arisen for an experienced Senior Mine Project Engineer to use their extensive open cut mining experience to advantage and join our far north-western Queensland mining site.

The Role:

The role itself will take on a long term strategic planning focus in providing ongoing support and assistance to the technical services team. Pit design, life of mine engineering functions, together with associated project activities will also form a basis of the direct responsibilities for the role.

The Candidate:

For you to be considered for this role it will be expected that you will be a degree qualified professional from either a mining, civil or related engineering discipline. Other requirements of the role include; 3-5 years open pit long term planning experience, experience with Surpac, Vulcan and Xpac Mine scheduling, SAP computer knowledge, understanding of relevant mining industry legislation and previous supervisory experience will also be looked upon as a favourable asset.

Being located in a remote location you will be provided with onsite accommodation, meal services together with gym and sporting facilities. There is an active FIFO roster in place from your base option of Townsville, Mount Isa or Gulf Community Centres. A competitive salary inclusive of base salary, site allowance and superannuation will also form part of your remuneration makeup.
