Ensuring compliance with the BHP Billiton commitment to Zero Harm, you will be in possession of the qualifications, skills and experience listed below:
Miner (1 year- Fixed Term Contract)
Hotazel, Northern Cape

DEPARTMENT: Mining- Wessels

Purpose:

Ensuring compliance with the BHP Billiton commitment to Zero Harm, you will play a key role in taking charge of the underground blasting operations within the designated area and ensure the delivering of a quality product to the plants. I will be expected from you achieve the daily production targets, to supervise the production team, ensure quality control and to adhere to mining legislation as well as Policies and Procedures.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

• You must be in possession of a Blasting Certificate for metalliferous mines and 3 years minimum proven working experience in hard rock mining in a mechanised mining environment.

Key Performance Areas

• You will be responsible for safety of people reporting to you as well as all mining activities in your area of responsibility

• You will be required to work shifts

• Loading and hauling

• Installation of roof support

• Drill and blasting operations

• Compliance with all legal requirements in relation to Mine, Safety and Minerals Act

• Charging of operations explosives handling

• Perform any other tasks allocated to you by your supervisor/superior
