Location: Australia Barrick (Granny Smith) Pty Ltd is located 950kms north east of Perth and 23kms south of Laverton and has been one of Australia’s leading gold producers for the last 15 years. With continued growth in our underground mining operations and an exciting exploration portfolio, the projected mine life is 5 years based on the current reserves.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Mill Maintenance Planner for a 12 month contract. Reporting to the Mill Maintenance Superintendent, the successful applicant will be responsible for planning maintenance activities to maintain plant availability as per systems documented within the Management Operating System Document (MOS).
The principal duties include;
• Proactive approach towards safe work practices and hazard identification
• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and participate in Planned General Inspections
• Compilation of mill and crusher shutdown Gantt charts
• Develop work packages.
• Scoping and inspections during shutdowns
• Review backlog against defined criteria and planned jobs which meets criteria by allocation of resources, equipment and materials
• Source all required parts for planned jobs
• Statutory and routine contract maintenance of classified plant, cranes and compressors
• Cost control and cost management wrt planned tasks
• Compilation and maintenance of 12 month and 13 week maintenance schedules
• Updating of maintenance records and management of maintenance files
• Liaising closely with warehouse, admin and processing personnel on purchasing, inventory, logistics and processing requirements
• Contributing to site safety management/programs/improvements
The successful applicants must have the following qualifications/skills:
• Previous experience as a Maintenance Planner or Maintenance Administrator
• Mechanical /Electrical Trade or Engineering Qualification preferred
• Advanced Microsoft Project experience
• Experience with manual and computerised maintenance planning systems (Oracle experience desirable) and Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Experience in the maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment commonly installed in processing plants
• Current WA C Class Drivers Licence
• First Aid Certificate (desirable)
• Demonstrated ability to participate and work effectively in a team environment
• Flexibility to adapt to improved procedures and practices
• Awareness of the Mines Safety and Inspection Act and Regulations
• Knowledge of relevant standard operating procedures
This position is fly in/fly out from Perth on a 8 days on 6 days off roster. Excellent on-site accommodation is provided. Recreational facilities include internet café, Foxtel, swimming pool, tennis courts and gymnasium. Telstra mobile access is available.
This position offers a competitive salary package in line with qualifications and experience. Standard benefits include 9% superannuation and 20 days annual leave per year.
