Our client has a high dominance in the Environmental industry marketplace and have a belief in innovation and continual improvement. As part of their growth strategy in Sydney they are seeking to make the key strategic appointment of a Principal Environmental Consultant / Planner to oversee the environmental planning groups.
This role will see you directing and managing key client projects related to Planning at both a technical and operational level. You will have a number of Environmental Planners reporting through to you on a project basis and you will be instrumental in building client relationships and winning new business. You will work closely with the senior Environmental Planning professionals in the Sydney office to ensure consistent high standards of performance across the firm.

To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and attributes:
• At least 10 years experience in a similar position
• Experience in managing teams of planning professionals
• Commercial savviness, business development and client relationship management expertise
• Relevant tertiary qualifications
• excellent written and oral communication skills including EIS preparation from start to finish

Preference will be given to candidates with consulting experience in environmental planning and impact assessments and natural resource management.

You will be responsible for:

* Environmental and Development approvals under key legislation
* Environmental Impact Studies and Assessments
* Preparing plans and procedures for environmental management
* Knowledge of the Planning Act and Environmental Protection Act.

Planning experience withing Gas / Mining and Transportation is also seen as exceptionally favourable.
