About the Job
A coal company in southern West Virginia is seeking a Underground Mine Engineer. Summary: Reporting to the Chief Engineer and Operations Manager on site, this position will provide mining engineering support that will contribute to a safe, environmentally compliant, and profitable operation. Primary Functions: Develop and implementation of the following: Mining plans including sequencing and timing of operations, develop underground mining plans for multiple section and single spread operations. Manage the preparation of underground projections, ventilation plans, roof control plans other plans and permits. Operations scheduling and planning. Operating budgets. Develop plans and programs that support mining. Identify and assist in the development of MSHA, Federal, WVMHST, State, regulations, requirements and plans to assure compliant programs. Manage on site production budgeting, forecasting of annual and monthly mine plans. Manage survey activities on site for monthly reports and mapping. Manage general constructions projections Other duties and functions that may arise. Minimum qualifications are shown below: Degree in Mining or Civil Engineering, five years of experience in surface mining; some surface beneficial, but not required. AutoCad and SurCadd experience.
