We have an exciting opportunity to join a successful mining group in a diverse and challenging position. The site has continued to produce at, or above, targeted production levels for the past 12 months and they continue to provide extensive career options for all staff. The company continues to be tenacious in its ambition to further diversify and expand existing operations and they have adopted a clear strategy to grow through targeted acquisitions and successful exploration.
The Production/Planning Engineer will report to the Senior Mining Engineer and will take an active role in all daily activities within one of the company's underground mines. You will oversee a diverse range of duties, including the supervision and mentoring of an underground production team. Specific areas of responsibility will include:
preparing weekly production schedules and communicating this to the underground mining contractor preparing all drill & blast plans & stope designs/optimisation complete weekly production forecasts assist with some long-term & LOM planning ensure safety standards are maintained at all times
The existing structure allows the flexibility to take on a range of duties and the opportunity to work with the existing Senior Mining Engineer will further develop your leadership skills. This position will involve 'hands-on' production duties so a willingness to spend time with the production crews/contractor will be essential. You will ideally have completed your underground time and met all requirements to obtain your Underground Supervisor ticket, however, those with strong production experience (in mining engineering) are still encouraged to apply.
An attractive 8:6 FIFO roster and competitive salary package will be available.
