Richards Bay Minerals (RBM), a joint venture between Rio Tinto, BHP Billiton and black economic empowerment (BBBEE) partners - Blue Horizon, is a leading producer of titanium minerals, high purity iron and zircon. The mine production output contributes significantly to South Africa's gross domestic product especially to  the economy of Kwa-Zulu Natal. RBM employs approximately 1 800 employees and 2000 contractors.  RBM is proud of the accreditation for ISO 9001 for quality, OHSAS 18001 certification for occupational health and safety management, and ISO 14001 accreditation for environmental management.  Since, the company has implemented a sound corporate social development programme and an internationally recognised environmental rehabilitation programme to restore the mined dunes to their natural state after mining.  MAINTENANCE CONTROLLER: MAINTENANCE & EXECUTION MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:To supervise and execute maintenance, minor modification, abnormal and shut-related work, in a safe and efficient manner in designated areas. JOB OBJECTIVES:·Supervises, co-ordinates and controls the activities of a multi-disciplinary maintenance team.·Ensures all work is carried out in accordance with safety, schedule and quality requirements.·Provides quality feedback on completed work.·Maintains and improves safety, health and environmental standards and practices.·Performs fair and reasonable tasks related to the job and working environment, at the discretion of the Supervisor.·Ensure all work is completed correctly first time around, within set deadlines and in a safe manner.·Work closely with relevant planning office to ensure all work is carried out according to plan.  OUTPUTS:·Effective supervision.·Optimal availability of plant and equipment.·Minimal job duration and equipment downtime.·Safe working practices.·No re-work on work done
