An exciting opportunity exists for two Heritage Advisors to join our expanding Heritage team in Dampier, WA. The Heritage Advisor role contributes to best practice cultural heritage management for RTIO mining leases and tenements in the Pilbara, WA. Key responsibilities include liaising with Aboriginal Traditional Owners and organisations, coordinating Aboriginal heritage surveys, assisting with the implementation of RTIO heritage procedures and programs, and ensuring compliance with legislative and native title agreement requirements.

Further responsibilities include maintaining positive communication and relationships between Pilbara Iron and the relevant Aboriginal communities, Aboriginal representative organisations and government bodies.

The successful applicant will possess relevant tertiary qualifications (anthropology, archaeology or a related field) and experience in Indigenous Australian cultural heritage management. Demonstrated competence and experience in the resources development area would be an advantage. A high level of people skills is essential and an ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders. Familiarity with the Pilbara and a working knowledge of the relevant heritage legislation will also be an advantage.
