Safety Manager

Company is one of the world’s leading energy companies conducting business in approximately 180 countries, engaged in every aspect of the oil and natural gas industry including exploration and production, refining, marketing and transportation, chemicals manufacturing and sales, power generation and mining.

We are looking for a Safety Manager who would manage and direct the safety, health and security functions for surface facilities and underground mining operations. Some key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Develop and implement programs to inspect surface and underground work areas, and surface and underground equipment to ensure compliance with federal, state and company rules and regulations.
• Represent management during federal, state and UMWA inspections by accompanying inspectors, reviewing and conferencing MSHA citations and gathering evidence for hearings.
• Develop and implement accident prevention/reduction programs to ensure a safe working environment, reduced personal injury, and reduced damage to company property.
• Develop, implement and administer Industrial Hygiene Program.
• Coordinate program development by conducting ventilation surveys, reviewing survey data, and preparing and submitting to MSHA the following programs/plans: Ventilation System, Methane and Dust Control, Roof Control and Addenda and changes.
• Evaluate and initiate change to improve efficiencies in all areas of responsibility.

Qualifications include a Bachelor degree, preferably in Industrial Engineering, Management, Engineering or related field of study. A minimum of 10 years experience in underground mining is necessary as well as a progressive successful track record in safety and health.
