The Robinson Nevada Mining Company, a subsidiary of Quadra Mining Ltd. has an immediate opening at its open pit copper mining operation located near Ruth, Nevada, 7 miles west of Ely, Nevada off State Highway 50. Senior Environmental Engineer
Individual and shared responsibility for providing operational environmental support and advice to a range of internal and external stakeholders. Develop and maintain systems that ensure compliance with environmental and other mining related requirements consistent with state and/or federal regulations and/or company policy. Preparation of environmental responses to regulatory agencies and the preparation and submittal of external reports. Fully understand and communicate all site environmental permits, licenses and policies. Conduct monitoring and reporting activities as directed to maintain compliance with state and federal regulations, permit conditions and company policy. Responsible for solid and hazardous waste management. Maintain and calibrate sampling and monitoring equipment to include routine maintenance and minor repairs. Develop training programs and provide training to department staff and other site employees or non-employees as requested. Support environmental permitting efforts. Supervise activities of external contractors/consultants involved with environmental projects as required. Monitors costs related to environmental engineering projects and recommends options to provide operational efficiencies. Provide assistance as directed or required with external stakeholders, i.e., general public, regulators, auditors, etc.

This position requires excellent management, organizational, communication and problem-solving skills. The ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects and adapt quickly to changing situations is a must. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to work safely in a team environment, meet deadlines and communicate well with others. A minimum of five years of environmental compliance in the mining industry is preferred.
•    B.Sc. Degree required with preference given to engineering field.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills required.
• Computer skills including experience with PowerPoint, Word & Excel required.
• Computer skills including experience with AutoCAD or ArcGIS, preferred.
• Professional communication skills with all levels of employees both verbally and in writing preferred.
• Excellent leadership skills and knowledge of influencing others, preferred.
• Ability to work safety, required.
• Willingness to work with all levels of the organization required.
• Ability to drive results and ensure completion of time sensitive deadlines required.
• Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of this job required.
