 We seek to appoint a Rigger at our North Mara Gold Mining operation. Reporting to the Gold Plant Engineering Foreman KEY RESULT AREAS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS · Works as directed by Maintenance Foreman towards safe and efficient lifting and slinging processes, machinery operation, vehicle driving and manual works associated with the North Mara site maintenance activities as well as building Scaffolding. · Assistance to crane operators in planning lifts, mobilising/demobilising lifting equipment & gear, determination of weights and masses, determining lifting points and controlling lifting processes associated with North Mara normal site maintenance activities. · Provides care, maintenance, storage and inspection of lifting equipment and lifting gear associated with the North Mara Project and normal site maintenance activities. · Contributes to & performs housekeeping duties to all necessary work areas associated with the North Mara Gold Plant and Mine activities · Actively monitors, advises, reports & actions matters of safety particularly in lifting and slinging aspects of the North Mara Gold Plant and Mine activities · Displays a sense of urgency with all priority work tasks and self manages other less urgent working periods to address safety, maintenance, inspection, and housekeeping objectives · Develops and promotes a quality customer service to all work groups within the maintenance department. · Has involvement as designated by immediate supervision with nominated key site projects and upgrades. · Be involved where requested at various site meetings. · Demonstrate commitment to safe work practices by example and act immediately on any unsafe act or situation observed and monitor standards. · Participate within and maintains Lift Plans & Safety Analysis. · Participates and assists within safety based investigations. PROFESSIONAL SKILLS Education Requirements: · Verification of training and experience · Minimum 5 years experience in the field · Must have a Trade as a Rigger / Ropes man · Demonstrated knowledge and skill competencies in safe lifting techniques’, lifting gear selection, determination of weights and mass and crane movement directing

· Must be qualified to access and sign off the construction and dismantling of Scaffolding · Demonstrated ability to safely operate above listed equipment · Demonstrated competency in safe driving of light vehicles Experience Requirements: · Must hold a current Tanzanian Driver’s licence · Experience operating as Crane Driver · Physical fit with reasonable Strength · Qualifications and ability to train others would be of an advantage · Effective group communicator · Demonstrable ability to work effectively in a team environment · Punctuality · Maintaining a safe working environment and practices · Lateral thinking · Resilient and resourceful · A sound communicator of both written and oral English language.
