JUMBO OPERATOR

African Barrick Gold’s Bulyanhulu Gold Mine is looking to employ a Jumbo Operator to provide training and direction to the development mining team and ensure optimum safe production at minimum cost and within statutory and corporate frameworks. This position reports to the Mine Captain and is on a rotational basis of 6 weeks on site and 3 weeks off.

KEY RESULT AREAS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Ensure data as required by the mine clerks is delivered in a timely manner
• Promote health and safety of section at all times
• Track and follow up any daily variance or deviations from the schedule
• Promote and facilitate training, career development, succession planning, and performance management
• Facilitate effective communication and understanding of safety policies and practices
• Manage consumable usages within budget target levels
• Lead direct reports by example to enhance behaviour and performance
• Ensure all relevant procedures and standards are adhered to

Education Requirements:
• Relevant qualification

Experience Requirements:
• At least three years solid experience as a Jumbo Operator with Meshing and Bolting
• Training the local workforce with ultimate succession in mind
• Impeccable safety standards and lead safety by example
• Development and construction experience will be advantageous
• Project Management experience will be advantageous
