Our Client, operating a large open cut operation, is a Well-Known Mining Company with performance runs on the board. They are looking for a Drill and Blast Engineer - FIFO - from Townsville. The incumbent will be able to solve on-the-spot problems and be able to manage the Drill and Blast schedules and performance whilst liaising with all contributors and customers.

In this role you will report to the Senior Mining Engineer and be responsible for engineering Drill and Blast activities on site. You will follow safe, efficient procedures and ensure that the Drill and Blast activities carried out meet statutory requirements, company and industry standards. Your role will contain a variety of responsibilities and require you to develop skills in a range of tasks.

The following skill set would be ideal, but is not essential for this position:
* Bachelor Engineering
* Computer literacy in Microsoft Office and Surpac, or other mine planning software
* Experience in SAP and ShotPlan blasting software, or equivalent, is preferred.
* current shotfirers certificate
* Solid experience in a open pit mining environment

In this position you will be on an 8/6 roster and an attractive salary will be discussed during the interview process.
