Position Synopsis

BHP Billiton is offering an exciting opportunity for Experienced Shotfirers to join our blast crew here at Mt Arthur Coal. Committed to developing a culture driven by safety, quality and continuous improvement, your highly developed team work and interpersonal skills, combined with strong technical skills and an eye for continuous improvement opportunities will prove essential in your ability to perform this role. Reporting to the Drill & Blast Supervisor, the primary purpose of this role is utilising your shotfiring skills to contribute to the safe and efficient drill and blast operation here at Mt Arthur Coal. 

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years experience working as a Shotfirer within an open cut mine. You are production oriented and focused on achieving results personally and for the company with your key focus on safety.

You will require:

• NSW WorkCover Unsupervised Handling Licence
• NSW WorkCover Blasting Explosive Licence (Open Cut Coal)
• A strong commitment to ensuring a safe and environmentally healthy workplace
• The ability to foster a teamwork atmosphere within the work group.
• Current driver's licence.
• The ability/aptitude to maintain high standards of safety, equipment serviceability, housekeeping and compliance with mine working procedures.
