KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
In coordination with other crew members the Raise/Alimak Miner follows job procedures and regulations to perform the tasks required in a safe and effective manner.
General duties and responsibilities include:
 Cut channel under working face to facilitate blasting, using pick, or by operating a cutting machine.
 Operate Alimak Raise.
 Install Alimak raise and supports as the face advances.
 Operate mounted or unmounted drill to bore blasting holes in working face.
 Charge and set off explosives or air charges to blast down materials.
 Clear scattered materials using shovels and heavy equipment.
 Break up materials using pick and shovels.
 May do development work to open passageways, air vents, auxiliary tunnels, rooms and shafts to facilitate mining.
 Install timbering, roof bolts, or cribs, to support walls and roof.
 Maintain, install and operate all necessary equipment.
 Understand the company policies and works in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
 Ensure personal protective equipment is used as required.
 Train and instruct others as needed.
 Other duties as required and as qualified.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Full Basic Common Core
Experience: 3 years related work experience.

 WHMIS
 Fall Arrest
 Lifesaver TM-60 (self rescuer)
 Registration in Common Core
