Our highly successful downtown mining client has given us an exclusive contract to recruit for their next Chief Financial Officer. A recent acquisition of a large mining company as well as projected growth has created the need for his new full time opportunity which will ultimately be responsible for all entities in the group. You are a designated accountant (CMA, CA or CGA) with a minimum of 10 years of senior level management experience, most recently in a mining environment. Experience in an exploration company is required, while experience in a producing environment would be a definite asset. You are either a seasoned CFO looking for a new, exciting and potentially lucrative challenge, or have mentored under that person as a Senior Controller or VP Finance, and are ready for the next step in your career. Ideally you have worked in a blue chip environment and want to transfer those experiences to assisting the senior management team in growing a junior mining group of companies.
Reporting directly to the CEO your initial mandate will be to recommend and develop a corporate management company structure for this growing group of companies. Along with this, there is an opportunity to develop a new Project Management system for internal and joint venture reporting purpose, as well as getting involved in acquisitions from a financial modeling and analysis perspective and participating in the corporate finance requirements. Mentoring the accounting department, including a designated Controller, and assisting them in growing their careers should be a component that excites you as the company has little turnover and values their staff. This is a very exciting opportunity for someone who would like the opportunity to get involved with the operations of this company, and make their mark as a member of the senior management team.
