About our client

Our client is a leading mining company with assets worldwide.
Considering the development of its multi sites operations in Africa, the Company is looking to recruit its Human Resources Manager.

Job description

Reporting both to the Country Manager and to the international Human Resources Manager, the incumbent will have to set up and coordinate the Human Resources and Safety policy of the Company. For this purpose, he/she will have direct report on 3 site HR managers and their teams. He/she will be expected to:

- Establish HR and Safety strategy and ensure that Company international standards are met,
- Oversee local and expatriate recruitment both for the head-office and for the mine site,
- Manage employee development activities including induction of new staff, developing appraisal system, analyzing training needs and evaluating the effectiveness of the same with a focus on safety programs,
- Elaborate an audit system of the performances to identify non-compliances with HR and Safety system,
- Identify and implement improvements in operational practices,
- Provide leadership in safety by anticipating current and future risks,
- Maintain HR and HSE records in the appropriate manner,
- Prepare all the reports for HQ and local authorities,

Who we are looking for

With a University degree in Human Resources or in Business Administration, you have a minimum of 10 years experience with a proven-track in developing and implementing safety policies in an emerging country.
A previous experience in the mining area would be ideal but we will consider candidates coming from any related areas (manufacturing, industry, construction, Oil & gas).
It is important to have been exposed to fast-growing environments.
You'll possess fluent verbal and written English and French language skills.
