Position Synopsis
The Maintenance Scheduler will be required to work closely with the relevant Maintenance Planners for each of these teams as well as coordinate the scheduling of maintenance activities with the relevant Operations departments.
The Maintenance schedules incorporate both system generated Preventive Maintenance tasks and Corrective Maintenance tasks which have been comprehensively scoped and planned by the Maintenance Planners.
Core Accountabilities of the role:
The Maintenance Scheduler will also facilitate the Weekly Planning Meetings for each of the Maintenance Teams and ensure that all key stakeholders have been advised of the details of the Maintenance Schedules prior to these Meetings.
Other duties of the Maintenance Scheduler position will include but not be limited to:
- Preparation of periodic Schedules identifying all PM work due for the period as well as scheduling of fully planned Corrective Maintenance tasks;
- Liaise with Maintenance Supervisors to manage backlog Work Orders;
- Manage short term changes to Maintenance Work Centre Capacities;
- Assist in ensuring ongoing Site Maintenance activities meet statutory requirements and internal BHPB standards;
- Liaise with key stakeholders to assemble forward Maintenance Schedules and allocate appropriate work priorities;
- Management of preferred service providers for Shutdown maintenance activities;
- Maintenance Budget Cost Management – ensure costs are allocated to appropriate cost control systems; and
Skills and Experience
To be considered for the Maintenance Scheduler position you will need to demonstrate experience with, and understanding of, the following:
- Trade qualifications
- Maintenance Planning/Scheduling experience within a Mining or Heavy Industry environment
- Exposure to Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) preferably SAP
- Hands on Supervision
- Microsoft Excel proficient
- MS Project proficient
