Gregory Crinum Mine, positioned 30 minutes outside of Emerald, consists of an open cut and underground coal operation. Gregory Crinum Mine has an opportunity for a suitably experienced and qualified Safety Advisor to join our on-site HSEC team. Reporting to the Safety Manager, you'll play a key role ensuring compliance with statutory legislation and BMA standards, identifying opportunities to enhance achievement of zero harm and coaching departments in adherence to the HSEC management system.
This role will lead interactions and coordinate sites activity relating to the Mines Rescue team and Service, your previous experience and existing relationships with QMRS professionals in the QLD coal industry will be very highly regarded.
Your key accountabilities include:
• Internal compliance and performance auditing of HSEC performance
• Supporting and implementing BMA HSEC improvement initiatives
• Support Department leaders in compliance to BMA and statutory procedures
• Representing the Safety department in key site production meetings when required
• Internal and external coordination of Mines Rescue Service members and activity
The successful candidate will require:
• A strong focus on Zero Harm leadership and continuous improvement
• Relevant Industry qualifications and experience
• Experience in operational safety management systems
• Solid experience with Mines Rescue Service team coordination
• A hands on leadership style
• Excellent negotiation and facilitation abilities
• Above average communication in interpersonal skills
