Senior Hydrologist

We are currently seeking a Senior Hydrologist to oversee the team of Water Engineers while providing guidance and support on a daily basis. They will act as the first point of contact for internal and external clients, take responsibility for all aspects of water related projects and ensure the team operates in an efficient and effective manner.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Carrying out feasibility studies through to detailed civil design work for mining and industrial water infrastructure projects
Hydraulic design of waterways, diversions, dams and spillways
Hydraulic and hydrologic investigations, feasibility, flood and risk studies
Industrial and urban drainage design
Planning and design of highway and rail cross drainage structure
Mine and industrial water management, review and strategy development
Mathematical modelling development and application
Auditing of designs for water related infrastructure projects
Responsible for team, skill and capability development
Management of resources
Management of quality deliverables and scope of work performed by the team
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential

Civil/Structural Engineering degree
Detailed engineering experience within a contracting or consultancy organisation
Must be experienced in 1 and 2 dimensional hydrologic modelling
Must be able to complete Hydrologic analysis
Sound knowledge of Australian Codes and Standards
Must have detailed design knowledge of civil design software packages such as HECRAS, MIKEII, MIKE21, MIKE FLOOD & TUFLOW
Must have experience in Hydrolic structure design
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
