R1,200,000-1,500,000 Per Annum Basic Salary Plus Benefits
Permanent senior level position in the Mining sector in Papua New Guinea. Benefits: Large company single or family benefits.
In this role you will be required to supervise and direct a team of mining engineers to provide short term engineering planning for day-to-day pit operations and short term production projects.
Your key accountabilities will include:
• Ensuring the effective completion of all short-term mine planning activities for day-to-day pit operations
• Liaising with all relevant personnel to develop the Weekly Mine Plan
• Reviewing the performance and ensuring progress is consistent with Medium Term Plan
• Developing and ensuring the continuous improvement of safety best practice in line with LGL’s LihirSafe Safety System
• Conducting the planning and organisation of programs, resources, people, equipment and materials within the relevant timeframes
• Effectively manage the recruitment, training and development, succession planning and performance of the section/team
A degree qualification in Mining Engineering from recognised institution
General understanding of the PNG Mine Safety Act and Regulations
5 – 10 years experience in open pit mining, with a minimum of three years experience in a mine planning role
Sound awareness of operational risk management and an excellent personal safety record
Sound understanding of CP requirement for reserve reporting
A high degree of competency in mine planning software such as Minesight, Datamine or Vulcan and mine production scheduling tools
