We are currently looking for a Mine Engineer to join our team at our Stock Gold Complex (located 45 km east of Timmins, Ontario on Hwy 101) as we develop our gold mining operation. Reporting to the Mine Manager, the Mining Engineer will be responsible for providing professional mining engineering expertise required to bring our Stock Gold Complex mines into production.

Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and specialist technical services to gold mining operations.
Develop and optimize mine designs, production procedures and systems, mine production planning, scheduling and drill and blast designs – so that production targets are achieved and mineral resource extraction optimized.
Determine the appropriate means of safely and efficiently mining gold deposits.
Active participation in safety, environmental and quality control processes and initiatives. Facilitate problem solving and implementation of solutions, in liaison with our team of geologists.
Coordinate and compile operating and capital budgets (short and long-term). Perform financial evaluations and cost analyses for operating and capital project justifications.
Provide engineering support for underground mining operations - ensure mines operate in a manner consistent with existing departmental policies, programs, procedures and legislative/regulatory requirements.
Project management.
Perform rock mechanics work, as required.
Monitor realization of targets for production, grade quality of ore, utilization of workforce and equipment and submit regular reports on costs and performance of mining and projects.
Qualifications / Skills / Experience:
Minimum of BSc Mining Engineering with minimum 3-6 years of progressive ‘hands on’ professional experience, with the majority in underground narrow vein mining.
Registered (or eligible for registration) with Professional Engineers Ontario.
High level of computer literacy as applied to mining engineering. Must possess the skills to produce mine plans using software such as GEMCOM, AutoCAD and advanced user of Excel. Experience with ProMine would be an asset.
Must be familiar with shrinkage, long hole and cut/fill methods of mining.
Must be familiar with underground ventilation methods and the use of ventilation software such as VnetPC.
Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and presentation skills.
The capability to work positively with a team of professional and technical people in a changing, creative and energetic environment is critical.
