Summary Description of Duties: The position will supervise an accounting staff in the execution of payroll, accounts payable, period-end close, audit compliance, budget development, and financial reporting and analysis. The role ensures accounting practices and financial reports are consistent with generally accepted accounting principles.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent is required. Applicant must have at least five years of accounting experience with increasing levels of responsibility. A minimum of two years of supervisory experience is preferred. Professional certification of CPA, CA, or CMA and experience with SOX compliance and JD Edwards accounting software are desired. Must have advanced written and verbal communication skills and advanced computer-based system skills. A minimum of two years of mining industry experience is preferred. The position offers a competitive salary and benefit package. Salary will depend upon experience. Must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver license. Must be presently authorized to work in the United States.
