The Electrical, Instrument & Control (EIC) Designer will be part of the EI&C section within an engineering team providing engineering services, project management and field support to the Yabulu Refinery, located in Townsville.
The success of the role is directly related to the demonstration of a Zero Harm approach to projects and the ability of the individual to investigate client requests and develop/define the scope of work (plan, schedule & strategy) and deliver within budget and on schedule.
The designer will be involved and/or responsible for all types of EI&C engineering work including drawing mark-ups and checking, technical queries, as-built and detail documentation for electrical, instrumentation and control systems, MV and HV power systems, motor circuits, small power and lighting, etc.
Duties & Responsibilities
Ensure all designs and project implementation cater for Zero Harm and Sustainability
Design and drafting of electrical, instrumentation and process control systems
P&ID drafting
Maintaining instrument lists and datasheets
Prepare control systems, loop, single line & power distribution drawings, MCC layouts, motor schematic designs and cable schedules
Ensure compliance of design work with all relevant engineering standards and internal procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
Experience in EIC Design Drafting in mining, minerals processing or heavy industry
Proficiency in Microstation (preferred) or AutoCAD
Display an excellent attitude towards safety and a demonstrated ability to comply with the safety requirements of industrial sites for personal safety and safety in design and project implementation
Must be willing to work in a small team and take on responsibilities outside the EIC discipline
Sound knowledge of Australian and ISO electrical, instrumentation and control systems codes and standards
Brownfield electrical upgrades and refurbishment experience and a recognised Dip, Electrical (or equivalent) will be highly regarded
