Reporting directly to the Electrical and Control Systems Superintendent, You'll be involved with day-to-day maintenance and troubleshooting on site, as well electrical and control systems upgrade and improvement projects, up to the value of $500 000. Technical work will include power supply distribution, UPS units, GPS tracking, variable speed drives, and motor protection relays. Install and commission various PLCs (GE Fanuc, Allen-Bradley), and design and implement changes to management strategies for site equipment controls systems. Projects are primarily brownfields, but a looming multi-million dollar development will be greenfields, and will allow you to expand into project management if you wish. The position is residential in a modern, expanding town. Benefit from a warm, tropical climate and close proximity to the ocean, as well as subsidised housing and utilities. The employer is an international resources company with multiple operations, so there is room to move. The client is looking for a degree-qualified electrical/control systems engineer with at more than three years experience in a top-class mining organisation. Familiarity with various types of PLCs and Scada is looked upon highly for the role.
