Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Our Client is a specialist mining equipment designer and manufacturer, based in Toowoomba, Queensland. They are eager to appoint a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing Engineering Team.
The primary focus of this role will involve layout, design and analysis for the development of high quality mining equipment used by mine operators to reduce mill downtime. With past experience in design and finite element analysis in a 3D software environment, appointees will also carry out all facets of engineering required to progress engineering projects from concept to completion of drawings.

In the role you will be responsible for the project management aspects of each design project, including the management of any engineering resources assigned to the task and the completion of work within defined time periods. You will supervise and exercise technical control over a group (or groups) including professional engineers and other staff, engaged in complex engineering applications. You will also be responsible for the supervision, training, and mentoring of junior engineers and/or draftspersons, where directed by the Engineering Manager and for fostering a strong team culture.

The successful applicant will need a Mechanical Engineering degree with more than 5 years of direct experience in quality engineering design, 3D modelling, and finite element analysis.
