Mining Manager Tanzania
Permanent skilled level position in the Mining sector in Tanzania in Tanzania, United Republic of.
To oversee the mining production process to ensure adequate volumes and grade of ore are available for metallurgical processing and waste stripping in accordance with the BUP. To oversee the Survey section to ensure on-time and accurate production support as well as compliance to governmental record keeping and reporting requirements. To oversee the Geotechnical (Rock Engineering) activities to ensure design criteria are available and to ensure operational safety with regards to slope failure and rock fall hazards. To manage site-wide earthmoving projects to support the operation for example TSF construction, airstrip construction, road construction and maintenance. To ensure legislative compliance and corporate governance for all mining related activities to ensure mining activities are conducted legally and within corporate guidelines. To implement and ensure adherence to safe and environmentally acceptable work practices. To ensure adequate staff resources are maintained and training and development of local staff is conducted in accordance to the localization plan. To co-ordinate the preparation (& annual review) of the Life of Mine Plan (BUP) to define ore reserves and business strategies. To co-ordinate the preparation (& annual review) of the mining budget, ensure adherence to the budget (cost control) to maximize the operational and financial profitability of the mine. To collaborate with other stakeholders (departments) to ensure optimum operational efficiency and achievement of strategic objectives JOB KNOWLEDGE - Must have detailed knowledge of: Large open pit mining operations, Mine planning and Design process and Software systems, Strategic and business planning process and Financial models, Mining fleet applications and Operational constraints as well as project management.Minimum of 12 years relevant post graduate mining experience. Minimum of 5 years experience in a senior managerial position in an open pit hard rock mine.

A recognised tertiary qualification in mining (e.g. BSc (or BEng) Mining Engineering Degree). Recognised Certificates of Competency in mining (e.g. Mine Managers Certificate). Registration with a professional body (e.g. AusIMM). A management qualific
Plan, direct and co-ordinate the mining operation, associated work activities and application of resources at Mine in Tanzania in accordance to cost, quality and quantity specifications and based on best mining practices in order to extract safe, profitable gold and to rehabilitate disturbed ground.
