Permanent skilled level position in the Mining sector in Phalaborwa in South Africa (Limpopo). Benefits: Medical Aid, Pension Fund, Housing.
The Surveyor will mainly be responsible for the day to day underground survey functins of an underground block-cave0mine but surface surveys may be required from time to time.
Responsibilities;
Planning daily tasks and organizing and leading a survey team
Installation of control pegs, line pegs and grade pegs in an underground block cave mine
Compiling of survey notes and layouts
Topographical surveys of surface features for updating of statutory plans
Staking of blasting blocks in an open pit vermiculite mine
Performing total station and GPS surveys for stability monitoring
Month end underground measurements, surface stockpile surveys and calculations
Actively participate in maintaining SHEQ standards
Staking and surveying of exploration boreholes and setting out engineering structures
Intrinsic Qualities:
Assertiveness and the ability to communicate at all levels
Ability to work without direct supervision
Skilled in operating a total station and optimizing on its capabilities
Skilled in operating GPS and understanding GPS principles
Excellent computer skills and knowledge
Chamber of mines advance certificate of competency in mine surveying OR a National Diploma in mine surveying
At least three years of underground development survey experience
Experience in Bentley Microstation Cad software and Geopak Survey or Surpac will be to the applicant's advantage
EB code Driver's License
This Mine is situated close to the Kruger National Park. 5 Min from home to work. Good schools and low crime rate. Town of Two Summers.
