Senior Underground Geologist

Our client is seeking to recruit a highly motivated Senior Underground Mine Geologist to join their Underground Geology Department. The successful applicant will report directly to the Geology Superintendent.

Principal duties will include:

• Promoting site safety, environmental and continuous improvement activities.

• Coordinating and managing daily geological activities within a large underground production workforce.

• Providing technical assistance and training to all geological personnel.

• Planning, scheduling and managing short, medium and long term geological projects.

• Geological and block modeling.

• Monthly and annual mine to mill reconciliation.

• Managing underground diamond drilling programs.

• Establish, maintain and improve clearly defined geological systems and standard operating procedures.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Tertiary qualifications in Geology.

• Minimum of 8 years experience in an underground mining environment.

• Significant knowledge of grade control procedures, practices and resource estimation techniques.

• High degree of computer literacy with Vulcan software experience desirable.

• Proven leadership skills.

This position is offered on a fly in/fly out roster from Perth of 8 days on 6 days off.
