Chief Mining Engineer

Our client is a Perth based ASX listed gold producer with existing operations in Australia and Africa. They currently seek to appoint a Chief Mine Engineer for their open pit mining operation in Tanzania.


Principal Responsibilities Include:


* Long and short term mine planning
* Scheduling of pits and stockpiles
* Aid in recruiting expatriate and national staff
* Development and implementation of training programs
* Developing annual plans and assisting with the budget process
* Coverage for the Mine Manager

The successful candidate will ideally possess the following skills and experience:


* Degree in Mining Engineering
* 10 or more years mining experience
* Background in Mine Planning (both long and short term)
* Proficiency with mine planning software (Surpac, MineSched preferred)
* Experience in supervising technical staff
* Underground experience would be considered beneficial but not essential
* French language skills would be considered an asset

This role is offered on a single 9 weeks on/ 4 weeks off FIFO status to POH. On offer to the successful candidate is an attractive salary package as well as, accommodation, meals and medical insurance while onsite and travelling.
