Our client, a major international mining company and the world’s largest copper company is developing one of the world’s largest Copper- Cobalt deposits in the burgeoning Katanga Province in South Central Africa.

This 40 year plus mine life operation will require quality infrastructure and initially part of this process will the construction of a mine-site village for which they require four Senior Civil Construction Supervisors.

The successful candidates will possess –

* 10 -15 years construction experience
* Solid earthworks experience

* All-round experience in building, brickwork, form-work, concreting etc
* Domestic / light industrial experience with a desire to work in a very challenging environment
* Ability to communicate at all levels and possess a ‘hands on’ attitude and approach
* Willingness to supervise and guide national/local employees

Desirable Criteria –

* Experience with training national workforces and local contractors a distinct advantage
* French / Swahili language skills an advantage, not essential
* Previous experience in Africa or other developing countries will be well regarded

This is an international position requiring awareness and understanding of intercultural issues. Successful candidate must develop comprehensive understanding of local customs, cultural and community issues.

The role will be offered on a 2 year contract, FIFO roster.
