This is an excellent opportunity for a tree change for a suitably qualified geologist to enjoy the many benefits of a relaxed Tasmanian lifestyle – excellent boating, fishing and World Heritage wilderness areas ‑ whilst being only a short distance from the nightlife of Melbourne or the wineries of the Tamar Valley.
The purpose of this role is to supervise and assist in daily Mine Geology functions, including grade control, production reporting, reconciliation, resource evaluation and orebody extensional exploration programmes.
Duties will also include:
* Assisting in developing and controlling Mine and Exploration Geology budgets,
* Technical responsibility for geological personnel and organising work load of production Geologists including grade control, production reporting and exploration logging,
* Assisting in the generation of geology resource estimates to JORC Standards, and detailed monthly reconciliations,
* Monitoring contractor compliance and performance,
* Assisting in Management, designing, planning and execution of ore body extensional exploration,
To be successful, you should possess:
* Tertiary qualification in Geology,
* Relevant geological experience including in a Supervisory or Management capacity,
* Strong computer literacy skills,
* Well-developed time-management skills and planning and organising abilities
* Well-developed interpersonal skills in the areas of team building, staff training and mentoring, leadership and discipline.
* A class driver’s licence.
The role is offered on either a residential basis (5 days on, 2 days off) or Drive-in/Drive-out from your nominated home base in Tasmania. Free single person’s accommodation will be provided for those opting for Drive-in/Drive-out or an allowance towards accommodation for families who choose the residential option, plus salary sacrificing is offered for mortgage/rental expenses.
A generous remuneration package will be offered, depending upon experience.
