Mechanical Reliability Engineer

Our client is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and self motivated Mechanical Engineer to join the engineering team at Cadia Valley Operations.

Within the Engineering department the Mechanical Engineering function consists of a Senior Mechanical Engineer, 3 Mechanical Engineers, and 2 Graduate Mechanical Engineers. Our aim is to develop a strong engineering capability across all areas of our operation - surface and underground.

This position will report to the Senior Mechanical Engineer and will primarily provide engineering technical services to maintain and enhance the capacity, availability and reliability of the plant, infrastructure and equipment.

Your primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

* Ensuring that safety is actively promoted and incorporated in specifications for execution of all maintenance and project works;
* Ensuring continuous improvement of plant and equipment by addressing areas of need identified through, equipment performance reviews and or use of predictive maintenance tools;
* Undertaking root cause analysis failure investigations and implementing recommendations;
* Developing and implementing fit for purpose engineering solutions that meet customer requirements;
* Managing all works to ensure they are completed on time, within budget and to the appropriate standard;
* Assist in the planning and implementation of major shutdown maintenance programs;
* Assist in the preparation of capital works submissions and implementation of the same; and
* Mentoring and development of graduate mechanical engineers.

To be successful in this role you will need:

* 5+ years post graduate experience in mechanical engineering preferred however less experience will still be considered;
* Experience in any of the following areas in the mining industry: mobile equipment or fixed plant - surface or underground;
* Able to work within tight time constraints and deliver on deadlines;
* Strategic thinker;
* Strong communication, reporting and interpersonal skills;
* Ability to work with others and lead a team to achieve desired outcomes;
* Highly developed problem solving skills and analytical skills; and
* A continuous improvement approach to all tasks.
