Geology Manager

Our client is seeking a Geology Manager for their underground gold operation in Victoria. This is an opportunity to enjoy the relaxed pace and community feel of a rural town on the doorstep of the Grampians and live within a short 2 hour drive to the outskirts of Melbourne. Ride your bike to work or use the company-provided vehicle that is part of the package on offer.
The purpose of the role is to effectively and safely manage the exploration and mine geological teams and systems to meet departmental and business objectives. Direct reports of this role include the Resources Geologist, Senior Mine and Senior Exploration Geologists.

Approximately 50% of the role’s focus is on monitoring/developing operational systems and ensuring effectiveness of these. Employee performance management and personal development will be a significant component, along with contributing towards strategic and corporate development of the mining operation.

To be successful, you should possess:

* Degree Qualification in Geology or related discipline;
* 10 years mining experience with minimum 5 years in operational leadership role; and
* Experience managing and providing leadership and motivation to a team.

This is a residential role and will be offered to the successful applicant on a permanent basis. Generous remuneration, commensurate with experience, will be offered and a vehicle is included in the package.
