Our client is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join their technical team. Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer, the Geotechnical Engineer will provide technical support to facilitate planning, design and the scheduling of mining activities at this underground gold operation. Specific accountabilities will include but not be limited to:

* Ensuring the quality assurance and quality control aspects of ground management are maintained.
* Observation, recording, analysis and interpretation of ground behaviour.
* Ensuring the geotechnical requirements are met in a professional and timely manner.
* Improving and optimising ground management philosophies and practices for the mine.
* Maintaining effective communication levels with production, planning and geological personnel.
* Testing and quality control of ground support.

The successful candidate will possess:

* Tertiary qualifications in Geological Engineering,
* A minimum of 3 years experience in underground mining,
* Experience in Minesight and Surpac will be well regarded.

This position is well remunerated and offered on a residential basis in a large town within the Central Goldfields of Victoria. Overseas applicants are encouraged to apply.
